The Associate Protection Professional certification is designed for entry-level security professionals with one or more years of related, compensated experience (or six months of related, compensated experience if you have obtained a related, approved certification).

We encourage candidates to use these reference materials as you prepare for the APP certification exam. The publications listed below comprise the recommended APP reference materials, which include five Standards and three volumes from the ASIS Protection of Assets. Remember: the ASIS exams are experience-based; therefore, you will need to apply your own experience to help you answer the questions correctly. Please don’t attempt to memorize these reference sets.
