Emergency Film Group has released a new training series for security professionals. The series does an excellent job of covering the essential elements that every security officer should know. Currently, there are four DVDs in the series: “Roles & Responsibilities,” “Patrolling & Observation,” “Handling Emergencies,” and “Countering Terrorism,” and more will be added to the series. Each DVD is accompanied by a supplementary CD providing instructor material to expand on the video’s contents and to tailor it to particular requirements.

The Professional Security Officer Series gives smaller organizations a good start for security training and provides a foundation for the tailoring of this training for all types of organizations. Each module provides an easily understood overview of its subject matter and prepares students for site- or organization-specific follow-on training. Most situations likely to be encountered by security personnel are covered. Security trainers will want to add this series to their tool kits.
