It is with a profound sense of sadness that we share that 2006 ASIS International President, Jeffrey Mark Spivey, 67, of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away, surrounded by loved ones on Sunday, October 29, 2023, at his home. Jeff played a vital role in volunteer leadership with ASIS International and was admired by security professionals across the globe.

He was born in Guilford County, NC, son of the late Charles Jerome and Beulah Elizabeth Rhea Spivey. Jeff began his career while serving five years as a Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Deputy and later worked in security at NCNB, currently known as Bank of America. After five years of service with the bank, Jeff founded Security Risk Management Inc and retired after 38 years of dedicated service in the risk management field. Always active, Jeff enjoyed playing basketball and was an avid sailor. He captained several sailboats and greatly enjoyed traveling the world on the high seas. Jeff was very technically savvy and spent a lot of time on the computer. He was always excited for the newest technology to be introduced. He was wholeheartedly dedicated to his family and loved ones. Always placing others needs before his own. Jeff was a wonderful husband, loving father and brother, doting grandfather, and faithful friend. His kindness, instruction, and love will forever be remembered by all those who knew him.

Jeff is survived by his wife of 40 years, Jean Jenkinson Spivey -- his children, Michael Spivey (Dawn), Mark Spivey (Mayya), Nichole Harding (Anthony), and Brittany Tedeschi (Jared) – as well as his 11 grandchildren and five siblings.

A private Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, please donate in honor of Jeff's life to the Life Enrichment Center of Kings Mountain. A place that took exceptional care of Jeff and loved him, at lifeenrichmentcenter.org or at 222 Kings Mountain Blvd., Kings Mountain, NC 28086.
