Thanks to member requests, ASIS has been working on creating a certification for those new to the security management field.
The Associate Protection Professional (APP) certification program is scheduled to be beta tested in December 2018, with an official launch in Q2 2019. ASIS is currently completing the body of knowledge needed by those at this stage in their career. This body of knowledge, on which the new exam will be based, will be made available to the public by early September.
ASIS is now accepting names of early careerists who would be interested in taking the beta exam. Those participating will have to wait 2-3 months for their results, as all test results will be used to determine the passing score for the exam. Beta testers can receive a discount on their application and exam fees, and those who pass will be the first to hold the new APP designation.
