ASIS International has developed an annual award that will recognize the outstanding community achievements of its chapters.
ASIS, the preeminent organization for security professionals, has more than 200 chapters around the world.
In addition to reaching out to their communities, ASIS chapters are typically active in sponsoring local and regional seminars, and focusing on local professional issues.
“Nearly all our chapters, large and small, dedicate resources to local charitable efforts,” says Michael R. Cummings, CPP, president of ASIS International. “They raise money for law enforcement organizations, for Toys for Tots, for food pantries, for injured soldiers, and for families who have suddenly lost a loved one.”
The new Community Service Award would provide $1,000 to the community cause to which the winning chapters have dedicated their time and volunteerism. There will be no honorable mentions or ties, and decisions of the Awards Committee, chaired by Jim Princehorn, CPP, will be final.
