Cyber Regulations: What a Proposed TSA Rule Means for the Transportation Industry

Nation-states and criminal groups continue to target critical infrastructure, including the transportation sector, via cyberattack to potentially cause operational disruption or economic harm.

The U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has made recommendations and issued security directives to improve cybersecurity in the surface transportation sector.

In November 2024, the TSA issued a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking to make those recommendations regulatory requirements.
