New Security Products: Mobile Surveillance, Brand Misuse Monitoring, and More

What new products are entering the scene in the security industry? Check out this quick roundup from Security Management.

Mobile Surveillance Kit for High-Angle Monitoring

Outdoor rallies, sporting events, and concerts often require temporary security installations, including coverage of high-angle vantage points and aerial threats like drones. The new Mobile Surveillance Kit (MSK) from Spotter Global combines remote drone identification and tracking, a Starlink satellite connection for livestreaming, and a surveillance camera in one compact unit that can be installed on rooftops or high ground to cover large spaces. A Spotter Global radar—depending on the model—can track people and other targets from nearly a mile away from the MSK.

The MSK provides an alternative to flying a drone over the area of interest for surveillance, which can be a safety risk if large crowds are present below, says Logan Harris, CEO of Spotter Global, in an interview with Security Management.

The system is portable and can be relocated as needs change or events relocate. The MSK can operate off battery power, so it does not require hardwiring or additional infrastructure and can be installed in remote areas if needed. The kit is customizable with other devices, including response mechanisms like a loudspeaker, flashing lights, or a spotlight.

The system is compatible with a variety of different cameras, including those from Axis Communications (pictured above), Pelco (pictured below), Flir, Honeywell, Bosch, and others, Harris says.

20251105_161448~2.jpgUsers can install the device on a rooftop or other vantage point with a clear view to monitor the sky for unwelcome devices or other rooftops for unwarranted activity.

Operators can set up “ignore zones” for locations where people are expected to be and customize alerts with 17 different behavioral filters, such as someone passing by versus lingering at a site or driving past extremely slowly, potentially conducting pre-attack surveillance. Clutter or false alarm mitigation filters out noise activity, such as busy roads or foliage moving in the background.

This isn’t the right tool for extremely busy locations with lots of activity, Logan says. “But when you’re looking at the top of the buildings, where there’s not supposed to be anybody, this would be a good application for that,” he adds.

“Where we see this to be the most applicable is in these wide areas, which are very difficult to monitor. And that’s where we come in,” Logan says.

The MSK system will be available for purchase or lease starting in December 2025.
