The First Corporate Security Congress of Honduras concluded successfully on 3 July 2026, marking a milestone for the development of corporate security in both the country and Central America region.
Organized by the 313 Honduras Chapter of ASIS International under the direction of its president, Mauricio Suárez, CPP, and vice president, Jorge Daniel Mejía, PSP, the event brought together more than 200 participants in San Pedro Sula, Honduras. Chapter Secretary Héctor Cubas, CPP, and treasurer Renán Sarmiento, were also pivotal to the planning and execution of this event.
Over the course of two days, business leaders, security directors, risk managers, cybersecurity specialists, and executive protection professionals from Colombia, Mexico, Guatemala and Ecuador gathered to share knowledge, experiences and best practices across strategic risk management, enterprise security risk management (ESRM), executive protection, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, business continuity, technological innovation and international security standards. Participants also took part in specialized workshops touching on AI, cybersecurity, site security, and other issues most relevant to today's security landscape.
Attendees collaborated to outline a strategic framework for strengthening the capacities of professionals and promoting a modern vision of security as a critical element for the resilience, sustainability and growth of organizations.
In addition to its professional impact, the congress also fulfilled its social purpose. Thanks to the support of sponsors, participants, speakers, volunteers, and strategic allies, a donation of $10,000 was made to the Foundation of CRISAQ, an institution dedicated to the comprehensive rehabilitation of burn survivors, particularly children who require specialized care.
With more than 200 attendees, international speakers and a donation of $10,000 destined to CRISAQ, the First Corporate Security Congress of Honduras left a legacy of knowledge, regional cooperation, leadership and social commitment, serving as a wonderful example of the impact our chapters can have in their local communities.
