Industry News: German Factory Improves Workplace Security with Video Surveillance

FACTORY WORKPLACE SAFETY

Flottweg SE is a family-owned international company that specializes in separation technology—its facility and machinery, including centrifuges, separate solids from liquids with applications in the food, beverage, biofuel, biotechnology and pharmacology, chemical, mining and oil, and water management industries. Its headquarters in Vilsbiburg, Germany, spans roughly 110,000 square meters (27.18 acres), and in 2021 the company opened a new factory at that location. In building the new facility, Flottweg opted to support perimeter security and workplace safety with a video surveillance solution from Dallmeier. Flottweg and its installer chose various components from the monitoring portfolio, including Panomera multifocal sensor cameras (which support perimeter security), megapixel dome cameras (for monitoring testing of centrifuges and decanters), the IPS 10.000 recording system, and SeMSy Compact video management software (for alarm activation and analysis). With the additional technological support, the facility can monitor stringent tests while keeping staff a safe distance away, perimeter fences and loading areas are continually monitored, security operators can track people and vehicles, and overall costs were kept low.
