Industry News: Los Angeles International Airport Invests in Safety Doors for People Mover
Airtram Security Solutions
With renovations underway in anticipation of the 2028 Summer Olympic Games, the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) has invested in upgrading and modernizing its infrastructure. One aspect of this initiative is the installation of Platform Screen Door Systems from Horton Automatics. This solution is designed to make the LAX Automated People Mover—an electric train system that offers transportation between the central terminal and rental car facilities—more convenient, efficient, and safer. The doors will improve passenger safety by preventing objects or people from falling onto the tracks and keeping windblown debris from entering train compartments. The doors will also reduce noise pollution and support temperature control inside the cars.
