The third annual Security LeadHER conference closed earlier this month in Detroit, Michigan. The event gathered 450 security professionals from eight different countries for a day-and-a-half of education and networking designed to advance, empower, and connect women in security.

Session topics included transformational leadership, adaptability, best practices for team management, AI in the security industry, architecting a purpose-driven life and career, beating burnout, empowering next-generation leaders, “superpowers” of women in security, and more.  Additionally, attendees enjoyed motivating keynote presentations from Pamela Barnum, communications expert; Shayla Atkins, DE&I strategist, speaker, and leadership expert; and Erin Stafford, keynote speaker and author. The event also featured a variety of networking opportunities throughout the day and a lively evening reception overlooking the waterfront, where attendees could build connections with peers and industry leaders.

ASIS International and the Security Industry Association are excited to announce two more editions of Security LeadHER; the 2026 conference will be 15-16 June in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and the fifth conference will be 14-15 June 2027, in Austin, Texas. Keep an eye on https://securityleadher.org/ for all the latest updates.
