Industry News: Chemicals Company Upgrades to Control and Safety Systems

Facility Automation

LANXESS, a specialty chemicals company based in Germany, selected Emerson to provide automation technology to facilities that help the organization’s development and manufacturing of chemical intermediates, additives, and other products. With the upgrades to its production facilities’ control and safety systems, LANXESS plans to improve the facilities’ operational performance and support sustainability targets. The companies signed an initial five-year global agreement, and Emerson—as a global alliance partner—will support the adoption of advanced automation technologies and project implementation efficiency. All of this can improve LAXNESS’s time-to-market turnaround for new products, as well as bettering the safety of the company’s roughly 13,200 employees in 33 different countries.
