Nu-Sun Cinema, a wildlife education non-profit, chose four VIVOTEK IP surveillance camera solutions to monitor several breeding pairs of American kestrels. Because observation of the birds’ activities must be non-invasive to ensure the least amount of disruption while collecting data, Nu-Sun Cinema built custom nest boxes to increase the falcon population. Cameras installed inside the boxes provide the best viewing of the eggs, and VIVOTEK’s compact dome cameras adapt to the fluctuating temperatures, humidity, dust, vibrations, and even occasional shocks in the boxes. The cameras provide these insights while also providing data on the eggs, their viability, adult behavior and interaction with the eggs while incubating, and observational data once the birds hatch.
