Industry News: Securing Finland’s Prisons with Demarcated Access Control

Securing Finland’s Prisons

Correctional sites in Finland are specialized environments that feature highly demarcated access control. At any given moment, personnel’s and prisoners’ movements must be monitored to ensure security and safety. Along with access control readers at entrances and cell doors, access privileges are personalized to ensure access is restricted to the appropriate personnel. And for roughly the past 30 years, the thousands of access control readers in these facilities have been provided by Idesco. The readers are able to withstand occasional kicks and hits, proof of their ability to sustain operations amidst physical attacks despite the lack of vandal cover protection.
