World’s Largest Office Building Secured by Gallagher Security
Considered a one-stop destination for more than 65,000 professionals in the diamond industry, the Surat Diamond Bourse in DREAM City, Surat, Gujarat, India, spans more than 35 acres and is made up of more than 7.1 million square feet of floor space across the 15-story complex. The world’s largest commercial office building is secured by Gallagher Security and its site management platform, Command Centre.
Prior to the building’s official opening, the platform was selected to provide an integrated security system that provides encrypted high-end security and cyber protection, as well as third-party integration capabilities to accommodate biometric readers, a command application, and IT management solutions. The platform will integrate with a wide variety of systems and hardware—supporting more than 700 doors, 650 readers, and multiple system integrations, all while presenting a single operating platform that can manage site security for the entire complex.

Honeywell finalized its $4.95 billion purchase of Carrier’s Global Access Solutions business. The agreement enhances Honeywell’s portfolio with differentiated software capabilities, adding three brands, including Lenel S2, Onity, and Supra.

Software investment firm Thoma Bravo completed its acquisition of global critical event management company Everbridge with a purchase agreement worth approximately $1.8 billion.

With its acquisition of the Washington-based traffic control companies, AWP has expanded its footprint in the sector for the Washington and Oregon regions.

ThetaRay, a provider of AI-powered financial crime detection technology, announced its purchase of next-generation European screening company, Screena, which screens individuals, companies, or other entities against lists of sanctioned parties to ensure compliance with international laws and regulations.
Minuteman Security & Life Safety//Access Security Corporation, Secuni
Minuteman—an integrator and service provider of commercial security surveillance, access control, fire systems, and life-safety technological offerings—recently finalized two separate agreements. Its combination with Access Security Corporation expands solutions to customers in several end markets, including education, healthcare, critical infrastructure, and other industries. Minuteman also acquired systems integrator Secuni, which extends the company’s expansion into the U.S. East Coast.
ASSA ABLOY//SKIDATA, Wesko Locks Ltd
ASSA ABLOY signed an agreement to purchase access management solutions provider SKIDATA. The move, which will help ASSA ABLOY grow its business in mature markets, is pending regulatory approval and closing conditions, but is expected to be finalized during the third quarter of 2024. ASSA ABLOY also acquired Wesko Locks, a Canadian manufacturer and supplier of electronic and specialty locks.
Motorola Solutions//Noggin
Motorola bought Australian company Noggin, a global provider of cloud-based business continuity planning, operational resilience, and critical event management software, adding to Motorola’s portfolio of emergency coordination solutions.
Resideo Technologies, Inc.//Snap One
The two companies finalized Resideo’s purchase of Snap One for approximately $1.4 billion, integrating Snap One into ADI Global Distribution. The agreement was previously announced in April.
Allegion plc//Unicel Architectural
Global security products and solutions provider Allegion purchased Unicel Architectural, a North American manufacturer of advanced glass, timber, and aluminum building solutions. The company will operate as a part of the Allegion Americas segment.
Convergint//Helinick
The acquisition of Helinick—a Romania-based integrator specializing in the design and implementation of electronic security, fire safety, communications, and building management systems—expands Convergint’s key service and technology capabilities across Europe.
Awards
Eagle Eye 911 Camera Sharing won the 2024 Campus Safety Best Award in the video surveillance software category. The award honors safety products and services for healthcare, higher education, and K-12 school campuses. Eagle Eye 911 Camera Sharing gives emergency communication center telecommunicators instant access to security cameras during an emergency.
Contracts
The Army Contracting Command-Aberdeen Proving Ground awarded a $191 million contract to Leidos for integrated lifecycle software and management solutions of the U.S. Army Communications Electronics Command, Software Engineering Center, C3T Directorate, Fires Division.
As part of its One Acquisition Solution for Integrated Services (OASIS+) Multi-Agency Contract program, the U.S. General Services Administration awarded a 10-year term to LIS Solutions, Inc., intelligence services.
The Kansas City International Airport awarded a $140 million five-year follow-on contract to VMD Corp, which will deliver passenger and baggage screening services. The contract is part of the Department of Homeland Security’s Transportation Security Administration’s Screening Partnership Program.
Laton Unified School District in Laton, California, selected the Arcules Cloud solution to support its surveillance infrastructure. The decision came as the school district made plans to overhaul its aging infrastructure across schools, allowing it to use existing camera and network infrastructure in place.

The National Safety Council released a new report on technology solutions that organizations and employers can leverage to reduce the number of serious injuries and fatalities that occur in the workplace.
Partnerships
Access control. Altronix entered into a strategic partnership with Liftmaster, a brand of professionally installed access solutions, including smart video intercoms, smart door controllers, and gate operators. The partnership will result in the availability of new preconfigured kits—which combine Liftmaster’s smart access controllers with Altronix’s advanced power distribution—that can support up to 16 door systems from a single enclosure.
Credentials. HID entered into an extended partnership with Inner Range, a provider of integrated access control systems and solutions. Inner Range customers can now pick from a range of Sifer credential compatible with mobile wallet-enabled readers that are based on HID Signo.
Extreme weather. The UK Environment Agency selected Leidos and Intersec to deliver a new flood warning system for England. The solution will help improve the government agency’s flood warning capabilities, providing situational awareness tools, including advanced geographic layers and precise mapping.
Fraud prevention. Thanks to a recent strategic partnership, Kompliant’s users have access to AI-driven fraud detection from Equifax that supports fraud prevention efforts and risk management solutions.
Regulatory compliance. 360factors, Inc.—an integrated risk and compliance software producer—has partnered with Prevalent, Inc., to expand its risk and compliance management solution offerings to banks, credit unions, financial services, and insurance companies.
School safety. California’s San Marino Unified School District and ZeroEyes reported a successful first year of their partnership in protecting school faculty, students, and volunteers with ZeroEyes’ AI-based gun detection and intelligent situational awareness solution.
