Industry News: Security Management Platform Eases Friction at Brazilian Airport
Genetec Helps Brazil’s Floripa Airport Minimize Friction Between Security and Traveler Ease
Brazil’s Hercilio Luz International Airport in Floripa selected Genetec’s unified security platform, Security Center, to help manage the airport’s physical security infrastructure and provide operational insights. After an expansion project, the airport reopened in October 2019 and is one of the nation’s most modern airports, able to accommodate up to 8 million passengers annually. Security Center was selected for its ability to integrate with the airport’s critical operations and new hardware and analytics tools. Within the airport, the platform manages more than 500 cameras and 210 doors, and its analytics tools support various tasks, such as identifying and tracking unaccompanied luggage and alerting security staff to the issue. The interface creates a single platform that can manage and display information from cameras, doors, license plate recognition software, intercoms, and access credentials for staff and contractors.
