Industry News: Remote Guard Services Provide Proof to Arrest Missing Menaces

Elite Interactive’s Remote Guarding Services Support Law Enforcement

Elite Interactive Solutions (EIS), a remote guarding service, announced its recent role in helping resolve criminal activity occurring in front of a client facility in Los Angeles, California. In August, EIS’ Security Operations Command Center received an alert about a vehicle with a flat tire outside of the Amcal First Street Apartments. EIS contacted the Santa Ana Police Department and noted that the two people in the vehicle appeared intoxicated. Before law enforcement could arrive, the two people in the vehicle were assaulted and robbed. Footage later supplied by EIS assisted the police in apprehending two people who fled the crime scene.

Broadcom//VMware

Broadcom Inc.—a global technology company focused on semiconductor and infrastructure software solutions—completed its acquisition of VMware, Inc., which will allow the company to grow its portfolio in private and hybrid cloud environments.

Awards

The Forge Institute, a cybersecurity training and workforce development solutions provider, received the U.S. Department of Labor’s HIRE Vets Medallion Award, which recognizes exceptional achievement in veteran employment.

Giesecke+Devrient’s Green LongLife sample banknote received the Excellence in Holography Award from the International Hologram Manufacturers Association. The banknote, which claims to have double the lifespan of a standard banknote, is the result of G+D’s project to reduce the amount of plastic and mineral oil-based inks that are used in traditional notes while still offering a secure product and features anti-counterfeiting measures, including a security stripe and the award-winning micro-mirror effects.

Contracts  

RTX company Collins Aerospace was selected to provide multiple airport processing solutions for Guam International Airport, including a self-service identity management system that uses data from passports, boarding passes, and biometric identifications to support facial scans.

The Defense Information Systems Agency awarded an approximately $110 million, five-year contract to Lumen Technologies to provide secure network services as an extension of an existing network services contract.

Allied Universal Electronic Monitoring won a six-year, £160 million ($199.8 million) contract from the United Kingdom’s Ministry of Justice. As part of the contract, Allied will supply electronic monitoring technologies and systems for GPS and radio frequency tracking, as well as solutions for alcohol monitoring and non-fitted monitoring devices.
