Fire Detection
Bosch Building Technologies introduced a new version of its video-based fire detection system AVIOTEC IP Starlight. It allows for the early detection of fires with cameras, even in low light conditions, and it reliably detects flames and smoke even in an ambient lighting level of 2 lux. The video analytics of the camera are supported by artificial intelligence, which processes the results of more than 20 algorithms, improving sensitivity and diminishing the likelihood of false alarms. With the new firmware version, 7.61, the system can be used in warehouses and production plants at night. In settings with changing environmental conditions, the sensitivity can adapt to requirements using programmable schedules. www.boschsecurity.com
Video Privacy Masking
Senstar announced the release of Senstar Thin Client 3.9, which—when paired with the Symphony video management software—features dynamic privacy masking, allowing it to hide certain features of individuals or automobiles in a camera’s field of view. Differing from static masking, dynamic masking is analytic-driven and applies pixelization to any distinguishing characteristics of moving objects. This feature can help organizations meet increasing personal data privacy regulations. The Thin Client can display 1080p video from more than 30 network video camera manufacturers via ONVIF Profile S, as well as from the Senstar Symphony VMS and any RTSP-compatible video source. www.senstar.com
