The Top 10 Global Risks for 2027
The global outlook around geopolitical conflict is changing. Nearly a quarter of respondents in the 2025 World Economic Forum (WEF) Global Risks Report ranked state-based armed conflict as the most likely risk to present a global, material crisis this year, but it was practically overlooked as a leading risk two years ago.
“In a world that has seen an increasing number of armed conflicts over the last decade, national security considerations are starting to dominate global agendas,” the report said.
Current top global risks include state-based armed conflict (23 percent), extreme weather events (14 percent), and geoeconomic confrontations (8 percent), but what do people expect to affect global conditions in the next two years? Watch the video below for the 2027 outlook of top risks.
