5 Pretravel Steps for Safer Work Trips
Business travel is back. Nearly half of travel buyers said they expect their companies to take more business trips in 2025, according to a poll from the Global Business Travel Association (GBTA).
The poll found that corporate business travel increased across all surveyed regions—Asia Pacific, Europe, Latin America, and North America—in 2024. And in 2025, most travel buyers expect the trend to continue with increases in business travel spend expected in Latin America (69 percent), APAC (63 percent), North America (57 percent), and Europe (50 percent).
“As business travel continues to evolve, travel professionals must navigate a landscape shaped by technology transformation, geopolitical factors, and sustainability imperatives,” said Suzanne Neufang, CEO, GBTA, in a press release about the poll’s findings in February 2025. “The year’s first poll underscores an optimistic yet measured approach as companies balance growth with strategic investments in innovation, workforce needs, and sustainability efforts.”
Before heading out the door on their next business trip, however, there are five steps that travelers should take to start the journey off on a prepared note.
