Certification Profile: Pushkar Tripathi, CPP, PCI, PSP

Pushkar.pngAfter earning the prestigious C Certificate in the Indian National Cadet Corps, Pushkar Tripathi was accepted into Reliance Group Support Services’ (RGSS) security management training academy. Following a four-month on-the-job training program, he earned master’s degrees in computer science and computer applications, and diplomas in forensic science and criminal law and cyber law.

“I’m very keen to learn new things,” he explains, “as it always pays off in the long run.”

Throughout his 10 years in security, Tripathi has encountered exciting problems to solve with his team. He managed security for Indian Premier League matches with 50,000 attendees. He set up drone surveillance for his company, and he prepared sites for visits from officials, including the prime ministers of Finland, India, and Luxembourg.

Tripathi decided to become involved in ASIS International in 2018. “ASIS plays a vital role in shaping security management across the globe, so I became a member to learn and grow with them,” he says.

Setting his sights on ASIS certifications—“globally recognized gold standard certifications for physical security professionals that validate my expertise, competency, experience, and exposure,” he adds—Tripathi tapped into his ASIS community for help.

In pursuing the Certified Protection Professional (CPP®) certification, he earned a scholarship through the ASIS Foundation and participated in a New Delhi chapter certification boot camp. He achieved his CPP in December 2020, his Professional Certified Investigator (PCI®) certification in March 2021, and his Physical Security Professional (PSP®) certification in June 2021.

“After passing the CPP, people around me appreciated me so much that I was encouraged to study for the PCI and PSP,” Tripathi says. “With all the certifications in hand, I am prepared for new challenges that come along my way. I have prepared my boat, now let the winds sail me through the sea.”
