Industry News: Improved Connectivity at U.S. Long John Silver’s Restaurants
SECURE NETWORK CONNECTIVITY
U.S. quick-service seafood restaurant chain Long John Silver’s selected Interface Security Systems (ISS) to enhance network connectivity across approximately 430 of its locations. The restaurant chain implemented ISS’s restaurant-in-a-box solution, which includes prefabricated network equipment ready for SD-WAN expansion, wireless WAN backup, and VoIP connectivity. With a reliable, high-speed network, the Long John Silver’s IT team can provide consistent customer service and support additional services—including guest Wi-Fi and mobile devices for staff. Mobile usage increased during the COVID-19 pandemic, with approximately 90 percent of Long John Silver’s business shifting to either online or drive-through orders. Interface also assisted in replacing legacy switches and myriad connectivity solutions with a scalable LAN and WAN with LTE failover—as a cellular backup in case of Internet failure—and 24/7 remote monitoring.
