VIVOTEK announced the launch of two new compact three-axis infrared (IR) mini dome camera solutions—the FD9166-HN and FD9366-HV. The cameras feature resolutions of 1920x1080 at 30 frames per second, and can reduce bandwidth usage by up to 90 percent for better storage savings while maintaining image integrity. The FD9166-HN offers IR illuminators up to 33 feet at 940 nm for night visibility and indoor coverage. The FD9366-HV offers IR illuminators up to 66 feet at 850 nm for night visibility and coverage in outdoor environments.


Synectics announced a series of new capabilities in its Synergy 3 command and control platform. The updated intelligent surveillance and security solution now focuses on the delivery of real-time data and systems integrity in line with evolving customer and industry concerns. New addition Secure Check is an interactive tool that displays recommendations for improving a system’s cybersecurity and enabling administrators to implement changes. Another update is Synergy 3’s expanded integration portfolio, with more third-party applications available for access control, artificial intelligence technology, and vehicle identification systems.


AMETEK Land launched a new human body temperature screening system for preventing the spread of infectious diseases like COVID-19. With touchless, real-time infrared thermal imaging from a safe social distance, VIRALERT 3 scans for elevated temperatures indicating an infection. A camera and a temperaturecontrolled reference source sit on a single mounting, with face detection locating the best areas for temperature readings accurate within 0.5 degrees Celsius, then calculating core body temperature. It can also operate automatically, with audible and visual alarms signaling the presence of a high temperature.
