I/O Modules

opto.jpgOpto 22 released three new groov EPIC input/output modules, providing system integrators and engineers more options for integrating existing devices and meeting precise requirements for temperature control applications for industrial automation and industrial Internet of things (IIoT) applications. The new modules also include designs for mixed signal types, signal isolation, and channel density, along with other features that make the modules easy to specify, install, configure, and support.

Video Storage

western.jpgWestern Digital Corporation introduced the WD Purple SC QD101 Ultra Endurance microSD card for equipment makers, resellers, and installers in the mainstream security market. The card delivers cost effectiveness and endurance for mainstream video capture for long, continuous recording. Western Digital’s WD Purple 14TB hard disk drive for surveillance lets companies build security systems with improved video capture and reduced errors, pixilation, and video interruptions that can occur in a video recorder system.

Mobile Access Credentials

farpoint.jpgFarpointe Data offers its Conekt mobile smartphone access control identification solution, which integrates features such as such as 3D touch, widget, and auto-unlock into the latest version of the Conekt Wallet application. The new version lets access control system manufacturers, integrators, and dealers provide their customer base with easy-to-use smartphone mobile access credentials.

Airport Early Warning Detection

horton.jpgHorton Automatics offers its Early Warning Detection (EWD) system, which enhances security at the exit between the sterile zone to the unsecured area of an airport, reducing the need to man secured areas. When an individual approaches the door from the non-secure side, the EWD system responds with flashing lights and an automated voice, escalating to locking the door down and notifying security if the person continues to move toward the door.

Remote Unlocking App

prodatakey.jpgThe ProdataKey (PDK) Touch app for Apple and Android devices is compatible with all PDK io systems and all doorways, regardless of the installed reader. The app allows customers to remotely unlock entrances, and only entryways matching the user’s permission level can be unlocked. Users can list frequently used entryways as “favorites” on a home screen for faster unlocking.

Security Management

amag.jpgAMAG Technology released the Symmetry Control Room V4.5, an open architecture command and control platform that unifies multiple, disparate security systems into a single user interface, improving response time and security management. The latest version features enhancements including a new video overlay for navigating the system from within a camera view. The camera lasso tool allows for a quick display and/or control of devices within a selected area on a graphic or map. Users have the added flexibility to create customized dropdown menus and submenus to support desired actions.

License Plate Reader

platesmart.jpgPlateSmart partnered with IP video specialist ViSTA Networking Solutions to make ARES license plate recognition (LPR) solutions available on ViSTA’s new reader appliance. The V7300 LPR appliance is formatted specifically for LPR operations at the network edge, containing computing, network connectivity, remote maintenance capability, PoE for cameras, and preinstalled PlateSmart ARES LPR software. With hardware that can be mounted outdoors, the LPR automatically reads license plates, allowing personnel to safely monitor and report any issues from an office or guard station.

Terrain Analysis Package

autopath.jpgSoftWright, LLC announced the release of its Terrain Analysis Package (TAP) 7.3, which offers TAP users a new AutoPath module. The module offers network building, visualization, and analysis tools for designing point-to-point networks, and allows the user to evaluate multiple path profiles simultaneously for various applications, such as SCADA systems, ring networks, smart meters, and more. Other new TAP 7.3 features include a Height Above Average Terrain calculator to support site and path calculation and reporting, plus custom basemap layers.
