Megan Gates is the senior editor at Security Management with more than a decade of experience covering emerging cybersecurity threats and trends, banking and finance, cultural properties, executive protection, emerging technology, and security liability. She is also the editor-in-chief of Security Technology, a technology-focused publication of Security Management, and a board member of the ASBPE Washington, D.C. Chapter.

Gates has received numerous awards for her writing, including the 2022 ASBPE Stephen Barr Award for Feature Writing and a 2021 APEX Award of Excellence for Technical and Technology Writing. In addition to being published by Security Management, her work’s been featured in Reuters, USA TODAY College, The Springfield Business Journal, The Cedar Rapids Gazette, and The Joplin Globe. She holds a bachelor’s of science in print/online journalism with a minor in film studies from Missouri State University.
