UNIFIED VIDEO AND ACCESS CONTROL
The Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk in California adopted Genetec Inc.’s Security Center platform, which the park’s security team can use to improve investigation and emergency response times. Admission-free and ungated, the amusement park lacks a main security checkpoint and instead relies on video cameras and field officers to mitigate security issues. The Security Center platform was selected for its combination of video surveillance, access control, and other systems and sensors. It also provides the park’s team with the flexibility to select preferred cameras and door hardware. In managing the park’s more than 400 cameras and 220 doors, the system can alert the team if an alarm is triggered and display live video to determine the appropriate response.
