Aimed at reducing the risk of “sidegating” when two people attempt unauthorized side-by-side entry through a turnstile, Smarter Security introduced its Fastlane Glassgate 155 turnstiles. These turnstiles prevent sidegating by using an infrared matrix that senses and determines who or what is going through the turnstile in real time. Capable of distinguishing between people and objects, these speed gates also process throughputs of up to one person per second.

Long-Range Surveillance 

Long range surveillance.jpgFUJIFILM North America Corporation’s FUJIFILM SX800 is a new, long-range surveillance camera with built-in lens and zoom. Other features include advanced image stabilization performance, fast and accurate autofocus with a speed as fast as one-third of a second, and heat-haze/fog-reduction functions that allow for clear footage. The camera can also withstand weather and tough outdoor conditions, and it uses the company’s proprietary image stabilization mechanism, accurately controlling camera shake with minimal lag.

Magnetic Spotlights

Larson.jpgLarson Electronics announced a no-drill magnetic mounting plate for Golight spotlights for 2015 and newer Ford F150 pickup trucks. This aluminum and steel plate—with a weatherproof seal for secure and dry installation—is designed for Golights weighing up to 20 pounds, for the rear cab light. The mounting plate is powder coated for durability, acceptable for highway speeds, and suitable for search and rescue, property management, security, and more.

Alarm Communicators

starlink.jpgNAPCO Security Technologies is expanding its StarLink Universal Cellular Communicators with new models on the AT&T LTE network. The models include StarLink Fire Commercial Fire Communicators, plus StarLink Intrusion Cellular and StarLink Connect Cell/IP/Hubs, with universal support for alarm reporting for all panel brands and to dealers’ choice of central stations. Preactivated, they forgo extra power supplies or extra installation time. The two-antenna design and Signal Boost circuitry maximize signal acquisition and null-avoidance.

Visitor Management

The customizable Symmetry™ GUEST visitor management family of automatic, interactive touchscreen kiosks enable all processes associated with a visitor. With preinstalled software and hardware, the kiosks have three main designs: countertop kiosks provide portable or fixed mounting for easy access; slim wall mount kiosks can mount flush against a wall or glass; and freestanding kiosks can include a cabinet and printer.

Camera Registry

genetec.jpgGenetec Inc. announced a new camera registry module for its digital evidence management system, Genetec Clearance, facilitating collaboration between public safety agencies and the public. Organizations can share a registry of their surveillance cameras, which allows authorized users to quickly identify cameras of interest and request video assistance for investigations.

Artificial Intelligence Cameras

hanwha.jpgHanwha Techwin America announced a new line of AI cameras that can distinguish between humans, vehicles, license plates, and more. The PNO-A9081 series offers 4K resolution, while the PNO-A8081 series features 5MP resolution. Both include 2.2x zoom with motorized varifocal lenses. The cameras’ algorithms recognize persons and vehicles as distinct objects, separate from the surrounding environment.

Cable Tester

platinumtools.jpgPlatinum Tools announced its new MapMaster mini Pocket cable tester. The tester maps multiple locations of RJ45 network cables and can detect shorts, opens, miswires, reversals, and split pairs. It also has a built-in tone generator with four different tone combinations, can be used with a tone probe to find where a cable is routed and its end location, and determines wire condition, telling the user whether the wire is good or faulty.

Analytics Library

intellivision.jpgIntelliVision Technologies Corp. announced the latest release of its deep-learning-based audio analytics library for smart cameras and other devices. The library can recognize and classify smoke/fire alarms, glass breaking, and loud or abnormal noises. The library provides analytics for audio events within 50 feet of the microphone.


tru-vu monitors.jpgTRU-Vu Monitors, Inc., introduced a 10.1-inch LCD monitor with a latest-generation IPS panel, offering sharp color images for both analog and digital video inputs. Operating on 12VDC or 90-240VAC via an included power supply and packaged in a steel enclosure, the monitor can withstand extensive shock and vibration. Designed for demanding applications and environments, the monitors are constructed of industrial-grade components.

Metal Pay Cards

HIT-G_D Mobile.jpgHIT and G+D Mobile Security will offer metal payment cards with EMV contactless chip technology. The two companies will combine their patented technology and global manufacturing abilities to produce the cards, which financial institutions can offer to customers. The portfolio includes cards of different weights and design options.
