​Hongqiao Airport in Shanghai, China, experienced rapid growth over the past few years to become the fourth-busiest airport in China, handling more than 30 million passengers each year. Part of the Hongqiao Transportation Hub, which integrates air, rail, subway, and bus transportation, the airport is also the country’s fifth-busiest air cargo transit point.

The airport implemented a video management system from Qognify (formerly NICE Security) seven years ago. The video surveillance solutions have helped keep the airport secure, as well as ensuring smooth airport operations. The system monitors and manages more than 1,500 video cameras, collating high-resolution video feeds from the gates, the airport apron, the parking lots, the airfield, and parts of the transportation hub. The central operations center employs the enhanced video technology, including visual parameters optimization and camera-tampering detection.​
