Industry News September 2014
Louisiana’s Port Fourchon is an important gateway for oil imports into the United States and it services deep water oil exploration and production sites in the Gulf of Mexico. The port’s patchwork of video surveillance equipment was growing obsolete and unable to support the safety standards designed to handle hazardous situations that could develop there.
Port officials chose Milestone XProtect Enterprise software to integrate cameras, video analytics, and data across the whole port and to share information with the port’s partners, including private companies and local law enforcement. The new system provides a high degree of situational awareness and response capabilities for the local police, sheriff, emergency operations center, and port administrative offices. Watch a video about the project via the Security Management app for iPad and Android tablet devices.
