Breaking: Fort Lee on Lockdown After Active Shooter Reported

U.S. Army Fort Lee in central Virginia is on lockdown after officials reported an active shooter incident this morning. Thefort�s official Facebook page confirmed the incident and said that all personnel should �enact active shooter protocols immediately.�

The fort posted about the incident at approximately 9:23 a.m. local time and said it took place at CASCOM HQ, building 5020.�It has been placed on lockdown until further notice.

Fort Lee is a census-designated place in Prince George County and is home to the Combined Arms Support Command, the Army Logistics University, the U.S. Army Ordinance School, the U.S. Army Quartermaster School, and the U.S. Army Transportation School.

Daily population at the fort averages about 34,000 individuals and includes members from all branches of the military, their families, government civilians, and contractors, according toFort Lee�s Web site.
