Walker Award Presented to Donovan

Kevin Donovan, vice president of global security for Johnson & Johnson in New Brunswick, New Jersey, has been a driving force in building partnerships on behalf of ASIS as well as in shaping the future of the CSO Roundtable. For his vision and strategic thinking, Donovan was presented with the Don Walker Award for Enterprise Security Executive Leadership at yesterday’s luncheon.

The award recognizes an individual who demonstrates commitment to security management education for those at the executive level of the security discipline. As an active participant in CSO Roundtable events as a speaker, moderator, and panelist, Donovan has actively recruited new members and encouraged professionalism among colleagues. Among the Roundtable’s first cochairs, Donovan helped create the vision and strategy that shaped the Roundtable’s identity as it transitioned into a more mature organization.

Donovan also took the lead in developing the concepts behind enterprise security risk management. He played a key role in building a partnership with The Conference Board and the International Security Management Association. This collaboration created a landmark report on the future of the chief security officer position.

Donovan has been appointed to the ASIS Strategic Planning Committee, which will help to shape the association’s path into the future.

The Walker Award was inspired by Don A. Walker, CPP, chairman, Securitas Security Services USA, Inc. Walker, the 1978 president of ASIS, has been an active contributor to a cross-section of ASIS activities for many years.
