
ASIS International is deeply saddened to share the passing of ASIS life member Tom Leo, CPP, on July 29, 2025. Tom celebrated 50 years as an ASIS member last year, originally joining the organization in 1974 and becoming a life member in 2012.
Tom had a long and prestigious career of service and security, starting with earning his undergraduate degree at the United States Military Academy at West Point. Following graduation, Tom served in the US Army as a Second Lieutenant and was promoted to First Lieutenant before being honorably discharged in 1962.
After his career in the military, Tom worked in the private security space, contributing his expertise to mulitple Fortune 500 companies including General Motors, DuPont, and Union Bank of Switzerland. He also founded and operated his own consulting firm, where he continued to mentor and inspire others in his field.
As a member of ASIS, Tom volunteered in many different capacities over 30 years with his local chapter and region. In the early '90s, Tom served on the ASIS Global Board of Directors, helping to direct the organization's mission and vision.
The ASIS community is grateful for Tom's many years of dedication and service, both to the association, and to the security community at large. He will be missed.
