Program Overview

Day One: Saturday, 27 September 2025

1:00 pm - 1:30 pm | Welcome and Overview of Program, Objectives, and Outcomes

1:30 pm - 3:00 pm | Creative Problem Solving and Reframing

There is a problem with traditional problem solving, which all too often becomes an unbridled exercise in finger-pointing, blame, resentment, and defensiveness, fueling a downward spiral of negative thought, behavior and action (or worse–inaction). This workshop flips traditional problem solving on its head, integrating Appreciative Inquiry, positive psychology, neuroscience, and design thinking. More than just naming and assessing problems more openly, you’ll learn how to arrive at solutions more swiftly and effectively. Using a combination of experiential activities, participants will gain tools and reframing practices to creatively solve problems with a focus on desired outcomes, results and buy-in.

Learning Objectives:
  • Understand emerging problem solving approaches in the realm of positive psychology, neuroscience and design thinking.
  • Learn and experience “reframing” of real world challenges to solutions
  • Learn tools and tips for leading creative problem solving processes with your team and organization

3:00 pm - 3:15 pm | Break

3:15 pm - 5:00 pm | Leading with Inquiry

Leading with inquiry (and influence) is an art and science based on one’s ability to ask, not just tell. The focus of this workshop will be on developing capacities to more intentionally lead self, others, and the organization based on Appreciative Inquiry and other strengths-based, solution-focused approaches to planning and change. This workshop will provide hands-on tools for influencing and communicating by utilizing powerful and generative questions, with practical steps for applying this process (and mindset) to your work and life.

Learning Objectives:
  • Experience the practice of Appreciative Inquiry in ways that help leaders to more effectively influence and woo (win others over)
  • Build and manage more productive, self-aware teams by seeking out and elevating strengths
  • Ask generative/powerful questions in ways that foster learning, connection, and trust across differences

5:00 pm - 5:15 pm | Summary of Day One

5:15 pm - 6:30 pm | Reception

Day Two: Sunday, 28 September 2025

9:00 am - 9:30 am | Analysis and Overview of Program, Reflections, Outcomes, and Objectives

9:30 am - 10:30 am | Remaining Relevant in an Ever-Changing Environment

As the security industry and broader business environment continues to evolve, CSOs face increasing pressure to stay current with technology/AI trends, business growth, leading practices, and advances. But, staying relevant takes more than just knowing what is happening - it requires making tough decisions, driving business development, and staying aligned with your organization's strategic goals. In this thought-provoking session keynoted by experienced security leaders with real-world case studies, hear how they have had to strategically shape their roles to advance both organizational goals and security initiatives.

Learning Objectives:
  • Remain competitive and relevant in a dynamic environment
  • Make high-impact decisions in complex situations
  • Drive value through strategic leadership

10:30 am - 10:45 am | Break

10:45 am - 12:15 pm | Future-Proof Leadership: Part 1

In a world of constant flux and radical change, navigating uncertainty is a must-have leadership skill. We all have a global pandemic still in our rearview mirror; we know volatility and uncertainty well. And we know resilience. This workshop is designed to expand leaders' capacity to establish key strategies and priorities to ensure you are “future-proof” and able to adapt to the changing environment and resource challenges. More than proactively addressing potential threats, this strengths-based planning workshop will help leaders to move beyond fear-based crisis management and into a proactive, strategic approach.

Learning Objectives:
  • Strengthen your ability to lead in a VUCA (Volatility Uncertainty Complexity and Ambiguity) environment with calculated confidence and a compelling vision of the future
  • Learn how to support teams to navigate change successfully with an appreciative, solution-focused mindset
  • Build resilience and empathy in ways that boost productivity and collaboration while adapting to disruptive challenges

12:15 pm - 1:15 pm | Lunch

1:15 pm - 2:45 pm | Future-proof Leadership: Part 2

2:45 pm - 3:00 pm | Break

3:00 pm - 4:15 pm | Ready to Launch: From Workshop to Real World Action Learning

This interactive session brings together key elements and concepts explored throughout the program in a dynamic, peer-driven format. Using the "fishbowl" discussion method, explore how the lessons and strategies shared thoughougt the two days - whether technical, strategic, or operational - interconnect and apply to your real-world industry challenges.
