In Memoriam_Milton Moritz 400.jpg

ASIS International is deeply saddened to share the passing of longtime ASIS member and former ASIS president Milton “Mick” Moritz, CPP.

During his ASIS tenure, Mick was an active volunteer, serving on the Global Board of Directors and later as President in 1986. He was also a member of the faculty for numerous ASIS courses and served as a mentor to many.

Mick served in the U.S. Army for two decades, focusing primarily on counterintelligence.  He later became the Safety and Security Director at Harrisburg Hospital before spending 21 years as Security Director for the Sprint Eastern Group in Carlisle, PA. He ultimately retired as the president of Moritz Associates Inc., a commercial and industrial security management consultant firm.

Mick was also a part-owner of POA Publishing LLC, a security publishing company. He was published in numerous periodicals and often lectured worldwide on security topics.

The ASIS community is deeply grateful for Mick’s many years of dedication and service to the association and broader security profession. He will be missed.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Memorial Fund at St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 4200 Londonderry Rd, Harrisburg, PA 17109.
