Some people leave a job. Others leave a legacy. Susan Mosedale, IOM, CAE is in the latter camp.
After nearly a decade with ASIS International, Susan is moving on from full-time work to pursue some passion projects of her own. While we are genuinely thrilled for her, we would be remiss not to acknowledge what she has meant not only to this organization, but to the profession she represented and supported so well.
What set Susan apart was never just her command of the work, it was the way she approached it. She came to every challenge with an open mind, strategic purpose, a deep respect for organization’s vision, and an instinct for building the kinds of programs and member services that actually moved the needle. She understood that a thriving association is built on trust, and on a culture where people feel supported enough to do their best work. She created that culture throughout the organization.
As a leader, Susan led from the front and from alongside. She mentored. She listened. Staff who worked with her grew professionally because of her. Volunteers and members who engaged with her felt her genuine investment in the profession they serve and her commitment to helping them achieve the goals they set in their volunteer roles.
The tools, programs, and relationships she leaves behind are not small things. They are the infrastructure of a stronger, more connected ASIS community, and they will continue delivering value long after her departure.
Susan brought strategic vision, servant leadership, and tremendous heart to this organization. We are better for it.
Thank you for everything, Susan. We know your next chapter will be extraordinary.
