Who Can Join the CSO Center?

Qualifying Individuals

A qualifying individual (of a qualifying organization) is the highest-level security professional (CSO) in the organization. A direct deputy of the CSO may also apply for membership.

Individuals seeking membership should be in a strategic role, not a sales or business development role.


To review the specific qualifications for your type of organization, please review our CSO Center Membership Qualifications.

Qualifying Organizations

Corporation with at least $100 million USD in gross annual revenue or a business unit, division or subsidiary with at least $100 million USD in gross annual revenue, or at least $750 million USD in assets.

A company that provides security services or security consulting as its principal business and has at least $300 million USD in gross annual revenue

Non-Profit/Not-for-Profit/NGO

Government/Public Sector (National/Regional/Local - non-law enforcement)

Law Enforcement/Public Safety/Justice

You're Invited to Join Us

To become a member of the CSO Center, you must complete the application and submit an up-to-date job description, an organizational chart, and an affirmation letter from your employer (or the CSO if applying as a deputy) stating that you currently hold this position.

Membership is individual and is not transferable from one person to another. Dues are $630 annually on a calendar basis.
