Certificate Courses

ASIS Certificate Courses to Advance Your Career

Enroll in an ASIS Certificate Course

Demonstrate your proficiency in core areas of security by taking an ASIS certificate course. By narrowly focusing on a topic, these programs help newcomers and experienced professionals alike build competencies. Unlike ASIS certifications such as the APP, CPP, PSP and PCI—which require rigorous study and recertification to stay current—ASIS certificate courses consist of a learning portion followed by a test based on information in the course. No previous knowledge of the topic is required, and at the end of the course participants will earn CPE credits.

Essentials of Facility Security Design Certificate

Facility Security
To protect assets, business and property owners must develop security measures and programs designed to counter the many risks present in today’s global environment. After completing this self-paced, online course, you'll be able to:
  • Support risk, threat, and vulnerability assessments
  • Craft functional requirements
  • Define types of construction drawings and plans
  • Explain security system training requirements

Upon completion, participants will be able to:
  • Explain the value of a PBSV program.
  • Identify the impacts of the legal and regulatory environments surrounding PBSV programs.
  • Identify and explain the key aspects of a well-designed program.
  • Create a job description and job application.

Is a Certificate the same thing as a Certification?

No, certificate programs and certifications are not the same.

Certificate programs are narrow in scope and combine education and an assessment. The assessment can only cover concepts taught in the related education program. While a certificate program may have a pre-requisite, there are no eligibility requirements. Certificates do not expire and do not require continued maintenance.

Certifications are broader in scope and assess knowledge and skills acquired from formal learning and experience. Certifications typically have requirements for eligibility and requirements for continued maintenance.

How long does the certificate course take and what is the pricing?

The courses are self-guided and take about 3-4 hours to complete. The cost for members is $150 for each course, and non-member pricing is $225 for each course.
