Fast Facts: Making Sense of Mobile Threats

With changing work expectations, employees are using their mobile devices more than ever to get work done. But while these pocket computers enable companies to be nimble and keep operations moving forward, they come with risks.

In a survey of more than 600 participants from companies around the world, 45 percent of respondents said they suffered a security compromise involving a mobile device between 2021 and 2022, according to the Mobile Security Index 2022 from Verizon.

“Now that mobile is so critical to business operations, it’s getting more attention from bad actors too,” the survey authors explained. “From coordinated state-sponsored campaigns to unfocused, opportunistic criminal exploits, the volume of attacks is going up.”
