Conference offers strategic to tactical insights on pressing security issues

Alexandria, VA (April 27, 2018)—ASIS International, the leading association for security management professionals worldwide, is pleased to announce that Scott Morrison, head of global crisis management and command centers, JPMorgan Chase & Co., will deliver the keynote address at the ASIS 28th New York City Security Conference & Expo (ASIS NYC 2018), May 16-17 at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York City.

In his keynote, Morrison will discuss current and emerging risks and threats abroad—from terrorism attacks and kidnappings to cyber security and intellectual theft. Morrison will provide a high-level overview of emergent threats from a strategic to tactical level.

“Scott Morrison is the perfect speaker to kick off our two days of education focused around enterprise risk and public safety,” said Nancy Green, ASIS International Vice President of Learning. “Responsible for the safety of hundreds of thousands of employees in more than 60 countries and command center operations in New York, London, and Singapore, Scott is no stranger to contemporary threats. His timely insights will set the stage for the day of learning ahead.”

ASIS NYC 2018 will bring together more than 2,500 security professionals from the public and private sector for hands on access to the latest security solutions on the market and an education program covering critical issues and trends in enterprise risk and public safety. The conference’s peer-developed education lineup includes a full day of learning focused on active assailant prevention and response. Conference sessions will address drone technology, securing an open office environment, protecting against vehicle attacks, and more.

The ASIS New York City Chapter will honor His Eminence Timothy Cardinal Dolan, Archbishop of New York, at its annual Person of the Year Luncheon, May 17 at noon. Dolan, grandson of a police officer, will be recognized for his dedication to the people of New York.

“It is my absolute honor to acknowledge the impact Cardinal Dolan has had on the people of New York,” remarked Lynn Brown, ASIS New York Chapter chair. “He has always been a great friend to our men and women in law enforcement. His leadership makes the city safer.”
