ASIS International is sad to share the passing of ASIS Flint chapter member Terry L. Jones on January 16, 2025.
Terry had been a member of ASIS since 2010, earning the ASIS Triple Crown and serving as Chapter Chair for the Flint Chapter during his tenure.
In the early 1980s, Terry entered the security sector via his work at Teachout Security Solutions. At the time, he was the only staff member at Teachout, which allowed him to accrue a wide range of experiences from guard work to administrative duties. Terry then transitioned to a position at Hurley Medical Center, where he continued to hone his security expertise, eventually rising to the role of security supervisor. He then rejoined Teachout Security Solutions, where he lead the development of their healthcare security department. Terry retired from Teachout as Vice President in August 2023.
In his free time, Terry was an avid sportsman, enjoying golf in the summer and both playing and watching ice hockey. He was also fond of the outdoors and took great pride in maintaining his 10-acre property, known by friends and family to often walk the wooded trails on the property and observe wildlife in the pond.
Terry is survived by his wife, three children, and mother.
He will be missed by the ASIS community, and the ASIS Flint Chapter in particular.
A memorial gathering will be held on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, from 2:00pm-5:00pm at Bella Birches, 606 N McKinley Road, Flushing, MI 48433.
In lieu of flowers, those who wish to do so may make contributions in Terry’s memory to ALS of Michigan.
