Workplaces and people around the world are struggling with their own “new normal.” During the current pandemic, so many ASIS International members are facing changes in their day-to-day work—coordinating business continuity plans and evolving contingency plans, mitigating risks with employees working at home, and more—and are working continuously to support their organizations and staff, as well as customers and clients.

The CSO Center is supporting members by providing resources and opportunities that can help CSOs as they face new challenges and unprecedented situations. Resources such as benchmarking reports, insightful articles, early-access to new standards, on-demand educational presentations, and certification assistance are just the start. But more than anything, the CSO Center is a community.

“What I find most valuable, thus far, as a member of the CSO Center are the opportunities to hear from and interact with others in the security industry, especially in these times of “distancing” and restrictions on in-person gatherings and travel. Hearing from others during the weekly CSO Huddles who are faced with similar decision points has been eye opening. I especially appreciate the ground rules established for these forums which have resulted in extreme candor and trust from all participants.”

Frazier R. Thompson, IV, Global Security Operations Manager, International Paper

The CSO Center provides opportunities and resources for CSOs to network, collaborate, and share experiences with colleagues from around the world, through an online community and regular virtual meetings to discuss a variety of topics.

“The CSO Center provides me an invaluable resource to create meaningful relationships with other security executives. I frequently leverage these relationships to benchmark and glean advice on how they are facing the evolving challenges we face on a regular basis. Having access to this outstanding network as a resource for my executive toolbox regularly pays off and it allows me to be a better leader within my company.”

Mark Landry, Sr. Mgr. - Corp. Strategic Security, FedEx Freight, Inc.

CSO members site their membership in this unique community as a key resource in performing their jobs.

“When I reflect on what my membership has meant to me, the first words that come to mind are community, education, and leadership. I am continuously learning and thinking about security and the future of the industry in different ways, thanks to the expertise and innovation within the ASIS CSO Center community.”

Lisa Oliveri, CPP, Director of Global Safety and Security, Education Development Center

There is no other insight quite like the advice you can receive from a colleague who has experienced similar challenges. CSO Center members help each other look at situations from different viewpoints.
