Dear ASIS Members,

What an extraordinary year for ASIS International and the global security profession.

This year marks a personal milestone for me—my 30th year as a member of this incredible organization. Those three decades have shown me the remarkable evolution of our profession and the incredible impact we continue to make.

With the appointment of Bill Tenney as our new CEO, we've brought transformative leadership to our organization. Our new strategic plan isn't just a document—it's a blueprint for creating safer and more resilient communities worldwide.

We launched our new strategic direction and vision. Our strategic direction is centered on cultivating a dynamic community that nurtures collaboration and knowledge exchange – in the role of the facilitator. It is imperative that our organization actively promotes engagement and delivers significant value to its members. Strengthening our network’s reach and credibility is achievable through the role of the Facilitator.

Our 2024 Global Security Exchange (GSX) event was a testament to our global reach—16,000 professionals from 86 nations, 500 exhibitors, and more than 200 education sessions. This wasn't just an event; it was a global conversation about security's critical role in addressing complex business and geopolitical challenges.

We've expanded our professional standards, launching the Security Risk Assessment and Cannabis Standards, and further advancing work being done on two forthcoming standards in the areas of school security and executive protection. These aren't just documents—they're frameworks that elevate our entire profession.

Our partnerships with Security Industry Association (SIA), International Protective Security Board (IPSB), and International Foundation for Protection Officers (IFPO) have created unprecedented collaboration within the profession.

Two examples, our groundbreaking market report, Complexities in the Global Security Market: 2024-2026 in partnership with SIA and our recent MOU with the IPSB around information and knowledge sharing between our respective memberships.

We continued to move the dial on available resources for those transitioning from either law enforcement or the military with new resources launched this year.

None of this would be possible without our thousands of volunteers across the globe and our dedicated headquarters staff. Their passion, expertise, and commitment transform our vision into reality.

As we look ahead to 2025, we will be facilitating new conversations across the globe in order to build safer more resilient communities

Thank you.
