Campus environments are uniquely difficult to protect, whether they are for higher education, corporations, or healthcare organizations. Furthermore, security professionals must not only ensure the safety of their facilities and everyone on them, they must also anticipate issues impacting the operations of their business. They need to prepare for threats posted online or posed by the environment. They need to anticipate problems that may impact staff traveling to and from work. Finally they need to communicate effectively when issues arise. In today's world, social media and publicly available data make up an essential information stream for campus protection and operations. With the right tools, this dataset offers a real-time understanding of unforeseen events so teams can react faster and more effectively.

Join Dataminr's Krista Worley and NYU's Kelly Mckinney, Senior Director of Emergency Management, for a discussion about how the NYU Hospitals Center employs social media and publicly available data to protect their campuses, staff, and patients as well as maintain smooth operations throughout the healthcare network. Learn how this information compliments their other data streams and is incorporated into their organizational structure. Hear case studies of how NYU has extracted value from this vast dataset and used it to inform their response to major events in New York City this past year.

In this webinar you will learn:

  • How publicly available data supports the protection and operations of campuses, including those in corporate, educational, and healthcare industries
  • Strategies for integrating publicly available information into preexisting organizational structures
  • How various departments within an organization can benefit from real-time publicly available data
  • Ways to get value from publicly available information and put it into action
