The presentation explores the nexus between security, brand integrity, marketing and sales and the protection of the supply chain and distribution channels of companies. From the entry of counterfeit goods to the diversion of products through parallel trading, theft or fraud, modalities of compromise—such as intellectual property crime, use of the Web and secondary marketplaces, sham sales and cargo theft—will be discussed. These concepts apply across industries to include consumer and medical products, technology, food and heavy equipment, to name a few. Case studies will be presented and potential solutions offered. Unique ways of obtaining funding from senior management through demonstrating ROI in measurable terms will be another takeaway.
Upon completion, participants will have an understanding of:
- A holistic approach to security through an analysis of supply chain and distribution channel vulnerabilities.
- Brand protection and integrity as it relates to security.
- Obtaining senior management buy-in and funding by demonstrating ROI through increased market share and sales.
