Converting sites from analog to IP has to manage advantages. With the many benefits, there are disadvantages of IP systems. One of the disadvantages, losing the simplicity of a spot monitor. Deploying spot monitors in analog systems was relatively easy. Deploying spot monitors in an IP system requires processing at the network edge.
