President's Award of Merit
The President’s Award of Merit is an annual award bestowed by the President of ASIS International to an individual member for distinguished service, achievement, and/or contributions. Distinguished achievement includes significant contributions to the knowledge of the profession, literature of the profession, outstanding service to ASIS International, and/or service to other organizations affiliated with the security profession. Individuals do not apply for this award; rather, the honor is bestowed by the ASIS President.
Women in Security Global Community Karen Marquez Honors
This award honors an ASIS International female security professional who has consistently worked for the betterment of the security industry. Karen Marquez was the Co-owner and Executive Vice President of MVM, Inc., a physical security services firm based in Virginia. Karen passed away in 2006 after a long battle with cancer. During her 23-year career in security, Karen developed and implemented core administration and support functions.
Young Professional of the Year Award
This award honors an ASIS International member under age 40 who demonstrates a dedication to the security industry through strong leadership, teamwork, and innovation, while continually developing their knowledge and experience, necessary in this ever-changing industry. The Young Professional must also be a strong advocate of ASIS’s mission to support, grow, and nurture the security industry.
Young Professionals Community GSX Experience Scholarship
This scholarship recognizes two ASIS young professional volunteer members who have exhibited strong leadership in the security industry and can demonstrate need. Applicants need to be below the age of 40. The criteria for this award include age, financial need, merit, and community volunteer leadership participation.
Ralph Day Memorial Security Officer Heroism Award
Each year, one security officer is recognized by the ASIS Security Services Community (SSC) for outstanding service/acts in the security profession through the Ralph Day Memorial Security Officer Heroism Award. This award is meant for those that perform a heroic act that involves circumstances where a private security officer risks their life to protect or save lives and/or property. The award nominee must be an employee of a contract security company employed as a security officer.

Security Book of the Year Award
The ASIS Security Industry Book of the Year is selected by a panel of ASIS members who review member-authored titles using criteria including relevancy to today’s security threats, importance of the subject in the field, and the uniqueness of the coverage of a new security concept, idea, or technology.
