7 Easy Steps to Administer Your CPP Accelerator Chapter Scholarship

  1. Scholarship Committee
    • Form a scholarship committee in your chapter to manage the scholarship program.

  2. Scholarship Policy
  3. Application Process
    • Set up the application dates for your scholarship. (We recommend sometime between 1 October - 15 December 2018).
    • Identify the selection criteria (e.g. career plans, financial need, personal hardship, etc.).
    • Decide who will collect the applications and where they should be e-mailed.
    • Use or customize the Sample Application provided.

  4. Marketing
    • Publicize the scholarship: post the scholarship application information on your website.
    • E-mail your members and highlight the scholarships in your chapter newsletter and communications.
    • Encourage individual members to apply.

  5. Selection
    • At the end of the application period, share the applications you’ve received with your scholarship committee for judging.
    • Review the scholarship applications and select the best qualified candidate to receive the scholarship.

  6. Award the Scholarship
    • Notify the individual that he/she has won. Also notify other applicants that they were not selected. (Sample notifications).
    • Notify the ASIS Foundation (foundation@asisonline.org) of the winner you’ve selected, with contact information and a copy of their application by 31 December 2018.
    • The Foundation will then award a voucher in January 2019 for one free CPP exam (applicant must meet CPP qualifications).

  7. Recognition
    • Create a certificate for the winner and present it to him/her at a chapter meeting to honor their accomplishment.
    • A full list of chapter winners will also be posted on the ASIS Foundation website to recognize their achievement.
