About the Foundation

The ASIS Foundation was founded as an affiliate of ASIS International in 1966 to serve the security industry through scholarship and research.

We offer Scholarship and grant opportunities for those pursuing physical security and cybersecurity careers 

We conduct timely security research on contemporary threats, best practices, and regulations providing valuable and actionable knowledge for the security profession.

The Foundation’s work is made possible by generous gifts from individuals, chapters, councils and organizations.

The 2022 ASIS Foundation Virtual Fitness Challenge

Thank you to all who donated to and/or participated in the 2022 ASIS Foundation Fitness Challenge!

With your support, more than 140 security professionals from 17 countries collectively traveled over 40,000 km (25,400 miles) and raised $37,243 in donations for the ASIS Foundation, a 34% increase over 2021 results.

Your donations will support certification scholarships, practical research, member hardship grants, and more to help security professionals worldwide.

Chapter Education Grants in honor of Roy Bordes

These grants support your ASIS chapter in delivering a local educational program in 2023 for your members. The funds can be used for any related education expenses including instructor travel, honorarium, presentation materials, meeting technology, marketing expenses, venue rental, etc.
  • Four grants offered annually for up to $2500 each

These APP or CPP certification starter kits provide all the educational materials needed to lead virtual certification preparation courses for local members. Security Convergence and Business Continuity: Reflecting on the Pandemic Experience

This research investigates the value and methods of merging business continuity and security, including both physical and cybersecurity. It builds on 2019 Foundation research on security convergence to find out what has changed since the pandemic.

Certification Accelerator

This popular scholarship program includes all ASIS certifications: the CPP, PCI, PSP, and APP. In 2022, the ASIS Foundation will offer the gift of one free certification exam for up to 100 ASIS Chapters.

In 2021, we awarded scholarships to ASIS members in 39 different countries.
Chapter leaders may click on the link below to learn how to administer this program. Chapter scholarship recipients must be submitted to the Foundation by 31 October. Interested applicants, please contact your local chapter for information on how to apply.
