ASIS Welcomes 2016 President, David C. Davis, CPP

Senior Security executive focused on expanding ASIS’ global reach and enhancing member value through new strategic alignments 

Alexandria, Va. 2016-01-04

​ASIS International is pleased to announce David “Dave” C. Davis, CPP, has commenced his one-year term as the organization’s 61st president. Mr. Davis, who currently serves as a senior division security manager for the Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Sector, joined ASIS in 1999. ASIS is the largest membership organization for security management professionals that crosses industry sectors, embracing every discipline along the security spectrum from operational to cybersecurity.

“It is a distinct honor to lead an organization comprised of my peers from around the world who represent every industry sector spanning the full spectrum of security environments, services and stakeholders,” stated Mr. Davis. “For 60 years, ASIS has been on the forefront of the security industry, equipping security management practitioners with the intelligence, strategies and tools required to stay ahead of continuously evolving threat scenarios. In the year ahead, our focus will be on expanded globalization and on enhancing value for our members through new, diversified resources and industry partnerships.”     

Over the course of his professional career in security management, Mr. Davis has acquired vast experience within large, complex organizations. He has led security activities through multiple mergers and acquisitions, as well as company reorganizations and start-ups. In addition to operational security, he has accumulated several concurrent years of managing fire protection; environmental, safety & health; and international trade compliance functions relative to technology transfer of exports and imports. 

He currently oversees overall security programs/functions at multiple U.S. and international locations for the Missile Defense & Protective Services Division within the Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Sector.

A dedicated and longtime ASIS volunteer leader, Mr. Davis’ service began within the ASIS Council structure in 2003 where he served as the chair of the ASIS Defense and Intelligence Council. He was elected to the ASIS Board of Directors in 2007 and has successively served as director, secretary, treasurer, and president-elect. 

Mr. Davis is a graduate of California State University, Fullerton with a Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. He earned his Certified Protection Professional (CPP) certification from ASIS in 2006. 

Mr. Davis resides in Southern California, U.S.A.
