Security Management, the monthly publication of ASIS International (ASIS), has been awarded a total of seven Azbee Awards from the American Society of Business Publication Editors (ASBPE)─two national and five regional (Mid-Atlantic Region). ASIS is the leading international organization for security management professionals.
ASBPE's Azbee Awards of Excellence program is one of the most competitive for business-to-business, trade, association and professional publications. The awards recognize outstanding work by magazines, newsletters, and digital media—websites, e-newsletters, digital magazines and blogs.
Security Management received national recognition for excellence in the categories of Magazine Redesign (Bronze) and Feature Article, "El Paso and Juarez: Securing the Sister Cities" (Bronze). These awards were presented in New York City on July 24, 2015 in conjunction with ASBPE's annual conference.
The five regional awards also acknowledged outstanding achievement in both the magazine's design and editorial. Presented on August 28, 2015 in Washington, D.C., these included:
- Magazine Redesign (Silver)
- Feature Article: "El Paso and Juarez: Securing the Sister Cities", by Lilly Chapa, assistant editor (Silver)
- Regular Department: Homeland Security, by Lilly Chapa, assistant editor (Gold)
- Regular Department: Cybersecurity, by Holly Gilbert Stowell, assistant editor (Silver)
- Original Research: Security Becoming Less of a Luxury, by Michael A. Gips, vice president of Publishing (Silver)
